One Liner - A crowd-sourced truth-seeking engine that is maximally aligned with HyperLiquid.
Problems
- There is no sufficiently decentralized way to source and verify information in the real-world, we either rely on whitelisted operators to push data to oracle, or get the truth manipulated by token whales/”DAO” i.e. The President Wears No Suit incident from UMA
- No effective way in current model to deter whales in DAO from providing answer that is in their best interest
- No existing oracle in the HyperEVM to provide real-world data
Solution
facts.hype provides a way for users to ask any questions and get the most reliable and credible answer verified by the crowd, with a dispute resolution mechanism built-in.
Phases: Ask => Hunting => Vouch => Challenge => Settle => Review => Finalize(distribute/slash)
- Users can ask any question and choose to attach a bounty (Truth-seeker asks)
- Others can submit different answers after depositing $HYPE to be a hunter (Hunter hunts)
- Others can vouch for the answer they believe to be true by staking $HYPE on top (Voucher vouches)
- The answer with the most vouched gets selected to be the “most-truthful” answer
- Hunter and vouchers of the selected answer will share the bounty
- If there is only one answer or no answer gets more vouched than the others, the result can be settled immediately and no bounty will be distributed
- Anyone can submit a challenge after the hunting period by paying $HYPE (Challenger challenges)
- If it gets accepted by the DAO - part of the hunter's stake will be slashed to challenger, part of vouchers' stake will be slashed to the DAO (DAO settles)
- In order to avoid the truth being manipulated by the DAO there is an external party in facts i.e. the Council to override DAO's decision and slash the DAO's $HYPE if needed (Council reviews)
- Anyone can then finalize the question to automatically distribute the bounty and slash related parties
In other words even if you provide a wrong answer you won’t get slashed, as long as your answer don’t get the most upvotes i.e. $HYPE vouched for you
Perquisite: Assume that everyone acts rationally to “liquidate” wrong answers and want to take a cut in the reward from the correct answer
With this mechanism facts.hype can be a plug-and-play truth-seeking engine for any kinds of protocols to build on top of e.g. Prediction Market, Insurance, RWA/Stocks Trading etc
